Don't miss Fall Family Night tonight (Wednesday 21st September) from 6-8pm
Please join us tonight for our Fall Family Night in the school playground. Spend time with family and friends and enjoy our Hula Hooping entertainer. Festivities begin at 6pm and food will be served from 6.30-7.30pm. This event is free of charge to all of our Ben Franklin families and staff. For more information please click here. We could still use more volunteers. Please click here to help out. Central Park Tennis Club is allowing us to park on their grounds for the BBQ.  If you choose to park at CPTC, you are personally liable for any damage or theft to your vehicle.

Fall After-School Enrichment Classes
We are now registering for our Fall After-School classes. Classes will begin the first week of October. For the Fall Session, we are offering Jump Rope, Speak Easy (public speaking), Drawing, Coding with Kids, Chess for Life and Spanish.  Please click here for more information and to register.

Your donation is needed today!

As you've no doubt heard, the Jogathon will not be on this year. Instead, we are trying to make it a simple, no hassle way for you to continue supporting our students. Please log onto www.mybenfranklinpta.org to make your donation. A suggested donation of $100 (1 Ben Franklin) per student would ensure we maintain our budget to fund all our valuable programs.  Please donate today!  For an extensive list of everything the PTA funds, please click here.

Show your school spirit
Order your 2016 Ben Franklin t-shirts and hoodies today. Order forms have been sent home with students and must be returned by October 1. Checks can be made payable to Ben Franklin PTA. Sample sizes are available at Fall Family Night tonight. Order forms are also available here.

A call for volunteers
We are still in need of many volunteers to help with events throughout the year. If you have not had a chance to complete your blue volunteer sheet, you can sign-up online here.

Calling for donations of old digital cameras
Do you have a digital camera you no longer use hiding somewhere in your home? If so, please consider donating it to the Ben Franklin Art Department. We are building a small inventory of simple digital cameras (like the Nikon Coolpix or Canon PowerShot) to use for teaching photography. We are building a new photography lesson for our Fourth and Fifth Grade students. The cameras will be used by students as they work with our Artist in Residence, Beverly Ash Gilbert. There will be a box for donations in the PTA room, or you can contact me directly: Evelyn Bundesmann at artdocent@mybenfranklinpta.org

Art Competition
It’s that time of year again for the National Reflections Art Competition. This is a great opportunity to show your creative/artistic side related to this year’s theme “What Is Your Story?”  Student entries are due by Friday November 4th. For more information please visit http://www.lwptsa.net/reflections/
