Can you help with Kindergarten Registration tomorrow?
We are looking for one more volunteer willing to help with kindergarten registration tomorrowThursday February 1, from 12.30-4pm in the library. This a fun and easy activity answering new family questions, checking birth certificates and helping families gather all of the paperwork needed to register their child. If you can help, please email Lindsay Sckorohod & Heather Conniff at

Thank you Maria and Coco!
We want to send a huge thank you out to Maria Amador and Coco Molina for providing our teachers and staff with a delicious feast last week to celebrate Staff Appreciation Day. Our staff loved being treated to a wonderful meal and being served by Maria and Coco.

Science Fair is coming soon
The PTA Science Fair is on Thursday, March 22. The aim of the Science Fair is to have fun while exploring multiple aspects of science in a hands-on way. To help facilitate this, the PTA will provide tri-fold display boards to any Ben Franklin student who would like to participate. Students should see their teachers for display boards and general Science Fair Guidelines and Entry forms are posted on the Science Fair page of the PTA website. Students should also check with their teachers for more specific guidelines and timelines if their participation is required for class. We will need parent volunteers on the day of the event to help before, during and after the fair to help make it a success. If you'd like to help out with this year's event, please contact Prasidha Raja

Vote "YES" February 13
All across Lake Washington School District, our classroom sizes have been growing, and our resources shrinking. However, we can change that, by voting "YES" on the upcoming Bond & Levy measures. The bond provides more classroom space to relieve overcrowding in our district, which is now the third largest in the state. The levies ensure teachers have the resources they need to help students succeed. And, due to good fiscal planning, the LWSD tax rate will be reduced. For questions, please read the Bond & Levy FAQ. You will receive your ballot in the mail soon, so please remember to vote "YES" and return it by Feb 13.
